The GE Fanuc VIPC664 IndustryPack Carrier provides four IndustryPack slots with all I/O routed to the five-row backplane P0 and P2 connectors. It is suitable for VME64 chassis. Backplane I/O, coupled with EMI gaskets on the front panel reduces EMI emissions and conforms to CE requirements.
The VIPC664 can accept up to two double-wide IndustryPacks. The carrier supports I/O, ID, memory, and interrupt functions. DMA and 32 MHz IndustryPack bus operation are not supported. The VME interface supports A16:D16:D8 (EO) short I/O access and A32:D16:D8 (EO) extended memory access.
From a software standpoint, the VIPC664-ET is very similar to the VIPC618 carrier. The VIPC664-ET adds 2 MB Flash memory, a single-level interrupt mode, user-programmable front-panel LEDs, simplified shunt selections, and an ID PROM for the carrier board itself. Each IndustryPack slot has a full 8 MB of memory space allocated to it.
On-board IndustryPack acknowledge (ACK) and a power check LED are provided for visual verification. Two power check circuits detect blown fuses and line faults on any IP slot. The VIPC664-ET provides resettable fuse protection, RF filtering and decoupling capacitance on all IndustryPack power lines.
